Hi, here I am again, with another problem in which i can use assisting. I'm trying to figure out wether the new MR from 2008 is better then the VRay 1.5 Adv. I was using on 3DSM 9. Nowi can't get my VRay installed on the 3DSM 2008. Forums say u can install the Max 9 VRay on the 2008 version. And it fails, i've added a screenshot this time to show what's failing. When Vray installation asks for the root folder and plug in folder of 3DSM 2008, i'm inserting the following paths: ROOT FOLDER: C: Program Files Autodesk 3ds Max 2008 PLUG IN FOLDER: C: Program Files Autodesk 3ds Max 2008 plugins and the installation folder for the 'Chaos Group' is already added by default by the installation so i'm not touching that one. He can't seem to create the Chaos Group folder I'm using a Vista 32bit system. PS: 3 screenshots added in a zip file. Well, maybe if they sold the software directly, but it is distributed by local vendors. Chaos group is only a couple people. Very true, but you still need access to Chaos servers to download the latest builds and SP's.
This is how it works with our license?? So you installed Vray 1.5 for Max 9 64-bit on top of Max 2008 64-bit and it worked? Are you authorizing via a license server or on individual machines? Sorry, ours is 32 bit. But yep worked with no 'apparent' problems.
Yes, you can login and download. But I guess they don't have forum behind that. As it is now, anyone can create a profile and read the forum, but need permission to ask or answer questions. It used to be all open, until a bunch of warez kids started getting obnoxious and they had to create permissions-only editing. Maybe if they had set it up that way from the beginning it could work that way.
I don't know the limitations of the phpBB stuff. Didn't you just give a presentation at 3dsLondon? I gave the LWF presentation. Yes, you can login and download. But I guess they don't have forum behind that.

Ahhhh, don't know why but for some reason I had it in my head that the login also enabled forum priveliges? Didn't you just give a presentation at 3dsLondon?
